Got Talent Challenge 5

First off it’s time to post the 5th and final challenge. This one is very fun, and will really help you dig DEEP into your stash…

CHALLENGE 5:

Create your own small “kit”, choosing a 4-6 patterned papers, cardstock, trims, embellishments, an alphabet, etc.  Take photos of the “kit”, and then make 2 projects made with your kit.  (i.e. a layout and a card/tag, a layout and a simple altered item, or 2 layouts, etc). Don’t forget to post the photos of the kit and 2 projects in our Got Talent gallery for Challenge 5.

A few details about what should be in the Kit…

1. This “kit” should be a small-sized kit, maybe about HALF the product of a normal monthly kit.

2. Kit must contain cardstock, patterned paper, embellishments, and an alphabet.

3. Please do not feel you need to BUY new product for this kit!  Feel free to coordinate and get creative with what you’ve got… Bring out that old stuff, and make it shine!

4. Projects made with this kit should use ONLY kit product you’ve selected, except for basic tools such as punches, ink, stamps, etc.

What we’re looking for here is your “eye” for what would go together well in a kit, and your ability to limit yourself to these coordinating items as well as really show the products off!  Make us want to BUY the kit and get creating too!

Your Kit Photos & Layouts/Projects are due in the gallery by Midnight, Thursday October 22, 2009. The submissions will be reviewed during the following week, as well as the votes from weeks 1-4 tallied… and the winners will be announced Friday October 20, 2009.

Got Talent Challenge 4

I can’t believe we are already on Challenge #4. For those of you who are just joining us, we are on the hunt for our next design team. And please join us in the forum, we are having a blast… Now… it’s time to announce our 4th Challenge in the Got Talent Search. Good Luck!

It’s time to challenge your color sense… Using one of the three color options I have posted below, create a MULTI-PHOTO layout. The layout must use one of these 3 color groups, and must use all the colors provided in the group. Other colors may be present on the page, but the 4 colors in the group you chose must be the main colors represented in your layout. When posting your layout in the gallery, please tell us which color group (1, 2, or 3) that you used (though it should be pretty obvious!) Good Luck… And don’t forget the voting starts Saturday for the Challenge 3 Layouts!

Got Talent Challenge 3

I can’t believe we are starting our 3rd week of this challenge. Time is FLYING by… and the entries so far have been fantastic! This is going to be another amazing design team.

This 3rd challenge comes from a few things we do each week here on the Urban Anthology Website. Weekly we post an inspirational sketch as well as we provide a word for inspiration on our site. This next challenge will showcase those ideas.

The challenge:

Create your own 12 x 12 sketch.

Then create a layout that is inspired by the sketch, as well as use ONE or more of the following words in the title.

* Direction

* Nurture

* Strength

* Time

The sketch can be hand-drawn and photographed or scanned, or of course designed in a program like Photoshop or Elements, etc (for sketch types and examples, see the sketches in our Design Team Sketch Gallery at UA).

Both the sketch and layout must be original work for this challenge.

The challenge is due by Midnight, Thursday October 8, 2009 in the Urban Anthology Got Talent Gallery.

Also, don’t forget to stop by this weekend, and vote for your favorite layout from Challenge 2.

Got Talent Challenge 1 Poll

Voting is now OPEN! Vote for your favorite layout from the Got Talent Design Team Challenge. Each week for 5 weeks we will have a new poll. The person with the most earned points at the end will be one of our Design Team Challenge Winners! This poll is open until Midnight, October 1, 2009.

Missed out on the first challenge? It’s not too late to join in on the Design Team call! You can join in by submitting Challenge 2 by midnight Thursday to be apart of our vote to win… or just work through each challenge by Midnight October 22, 2009 and have them posted in the appropriate galleries… and you too could be one of our next design stars!

Rules for this vote:

Each person get’s one vote… a “person” is determined by their computers IP address…

You can only vote for one layout, and it can be your own

Good Luck!

Got Talent Challenge 2

It’s time for the second challenge in the Urban Anthology Design Team Call, Got Talent! So far the entries for Challenge 1 have been truly amazing. I thought our last design team call was tough, this one is going to be just as hard to decide on who will be on our next design team. The voting will start at 12:01 PST Saturday to 12:00 Midnight Wednesday right here on our blog! So don’t forget to come by and vote for your favorite design team member!

Now for Challenge 2! This challenge will be due midnight PST October 1st, 2009 if you are participating in Option 1 and would like your entry voted on. Otherwise you have until the end of the series of challenges Midnight October 22, 2009 to complete them all and submit your portfolio!

Challenge 2:

Stretch your dollars… show us how to make your product go far… Make a layout (one or two page your choice) and be creative with the product you use… show us how you can make your paper stretch, how to make custom embellishments, create your own patterned paper… pull out all the stops, to make the simple, the old, and all those left-over’s go far and still be stylish. Really, we want you to pull out the OLD stuff and use it… yeah, that stuff from 2001 that’s collecting dust! The BOX of scraps that we are saving for the “perfect project” That funky card stock we HAD to have… or that big paper pad of patterned paper with 10 of each pattern! That stuff… I know you have it! :)

Also, with this challenge include a tutorial with photos in the gallery, showing one of your tips/techniques used on the layout. Check out our current design teams workshops to see an example of a tutorial. You know click the word over there that says WORKSHOP –>

Good Luck and I can not WAIT to see what you make. :)
